The Shack!

Heres a look at some of my gear. I'm a gadget nut and my equipment changes from time to time. I'd love to keep everything I've owned but I'd run out of space and $s in no time and I like to try differant things so I usually have to sell something to get something else etc...

Heres one of my two racks with a Marshall 9100 power amp and a Carvin QuadX preamp. If I'm having a hard time trying to find a certain sound? This is what I use. With this setup I can dial in just about any sound I want but it's not very gig friendly. It weighs a ton!! Also in the rack is a DBX 266XL compressor and a Peavey AddVerb processor.

Here's my other rack with my recording gear and my TC Electronics G-Sharp multi FX unit. Also in this rack are my Presonus BlueMax Compessor and BlueTube Preamp which works great for acoustic and mic pre as well as being very useful for driving other amps for a little grind or color. The BlueMax compressor is a neat unit with several presets and manual override of the entire unit. It also works well for harp and keyboards. I highly recommend these old PreSonus units. My recording interface is a M Audio Omnistudio USB interface and works well or at least good enough for a recording rookie like me. PS- Notice the Glenlivet glass for serious compositions!

Here's a few of my other amps:

Vibrolux Clone with Celestion Vintage 10s

Marshall JTM45 Clone.

18watt Marshall and 18/36watt Skystreak amps. Both have their own sound and give me all the Marshall grind I need! The guitar is my Agile 3000 before I installed some hot Smit pups and switch type pots for split parallel operation of the pickups.

Here's the Agile 3000 after the pup upgrade and new knobs and pickguard. If your looking for a great set of handwound pups for a fair price go chk Smit out. I whole heartedly endorse his work. Smit Website |

Heres my 18watt Cobra with it's 212 cab. This is the first Cobra amp I made and Anthony Reason of Reason amps did the cabs for me and he does fantastic work!!! The guitar is my trusty PRS CE24.

My Deluxe Reverb Clone

My Silverface Deluxe Reverb from 1969.

This is a fender BluesDeville I bought new in 1996. This amp was a pain in the butt from the start! The plastic body input jacks are prone for failure because their soldered directly to the circuit board and after extended use become loose because the plastic threads strip and then the solder trace breaks. I also had problems with the ribbon cable to one output tube socket becoming loose on the board and I found a resistor that wasn't even soldered at the factory causing intermittent problems. And to top it all off! two of the blue speakers went south so I replaced them all with Jensen 10s. After modding the inputs with switchraft jacks and other repairs, it was a nice amp but I'd never gig it for fear of it taking a dump on stage. Beware!!!!!!!

Sun Beta Lead

Here's a amp you don't see very often but it has a place in amp history worth mentioning. It's all transistor but it has a real nice sound and is one loud mutha and it weighs about 1,000,000lbs. The speakers are massive too. Here's a link that talks about it in more depth that's intresting: Sunn Beta Lead |

1997 Fender Lonestar Strat.

This Lonestar has a wonderful birdseye maple neck. It has two Custom Shop Vintage pups in the neck and mid position replacing the original Texas Specials and a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbucker in the Bridge position with coil splitting for single coil tone. It also has a LR Baggs "X-Bridge" Acoustic Strat Bridge which gives a nice acoustic sound without feedback. You can also toggle between the acoustic bridge and the regular pups or use them together. It also has stereo/mono switched output. This is the best playing strat and the most versitle ax I own.

Here's a few of my other guitars. Dean Avelanch MQ, American Strat made from a early 60s neck and a 70s body. I get frowned on all the time from purist over this guitar! LOL!!The far right is a 1996 American Tele with Texas Specials.

Here's a Hagstrom Swede goldtop. This is a great guitar for the money. I paid $350 for it.

My very first electric guitar, the 1959 Magnatone VIII. Wish I still had it.
