About Me, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!J

I was born on a stormy morning in February of 1965. Just kidding!

I got started in electronics as a boy in the mid 70s with my love of music, radios and my shortwave hobby. As a kid I always liked tearing stuff apart to see what made it tick and that really pissed my Dad off a few times by destroying several appliances, radios etc.. You name it I probably took it apart. I can't count the number of gadgets I destroyed by doing so. So one day he must have gotten tired of it all and said “If you’re going to learn, I guess I’ll help you before you get electrocuted or burn the house down!” and he took me to Rat Shack to buy a kit. We picked up a Globe Patrol regenerative shortwave set and built it. My Dad was an electronics tech for the military for forty years and was a good teacher. He taught me the basics, how to solder, Ohms Law and safety etc... Anyway after building that first radio I was hooked on electronics and have been ever since. As a young man I played in several terrible and a couple good rock bands and friends and people would learn of my electronics hobby and that I repaired amps and stuff. So I started fixing PAs, amps and other equipment for people. After doing this a wile I started to understand similarities between amps and their layouts and why Marshalls sound like Marshalls and why fenders sound like fenders etc.. it’s from there that I started building and modifying my own amps and developing my own circuits. I’ve been building amps now for over fifteen years and working on them for almost twenty five years. Selling them really wasn’t my idea. Several good friends and people I’ve built amps for over the years encouraged me to market my amps and skills so here I am. Or at least until the solder smoke catches up to me!
